Myth #2 I can get a better deal on the new home without an agent.

You see, the homebuilder automatically builds the buyer agent commission into the price of the home. This is how the agent gets paid. If the homebuilder were to discount the price of the home by the commission amount they would be artificially lowering the value of homes in the subdivision.
